AFDA alumni star in new Showmax/Canal+ fantasy series Blood Psalms

The new Showmax action-packed African fantasy series, a co-production with CANAL+, “Blood Psalms”, premiered on Showmax on 28 September 2022 with five AFDA Live Performance alumni starring in the series.
The AFDA alumni starring in the most ambitious series made by Showmax include Ayanda Makayi, Thishiwe Ziqubu, Lemogang Tsipa, Thandy Matlaila and Richard Lukunku who star alongside South African household names Albert Ibokwe Khoza, Sello Maake Ka Ncube, Thando Thabethe, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa and Faith Baloyi to Siv Ngesi, Hlubi Mboya, Warren Masemola and many more.
The series is already receiving great reviews with TVMzanzi calling it, “Without doubt, the best TV show created in Africa”. Leon van Nierop “the biggest and most spectacular production of a local series yet” and TimesLIVE “African fantasy at its finest. “

Layla Swart and Jahmil X.T Qubeke, the co-owners of Yellowbone Entertainment are the brains behind the series.

The 10 episode “Blood Psalms” had its world premiere in Cape Town on Wednesday, 24 August 2022 as the opening night screening at MIP Africa, part of FAME Week Africa.
